Largest Coast Redwoods

(Sequoia sempervirens)

Diameters are taken at breast height (4.5 feet or 1.37 meters) above tree's average ground level. Heights are determined by the vertical distance from the top of tree, living or dead, to the average ground level of tree. Height measurements were taken with either climber deployed tapeline or laser. Trunk interval diameters used for volume calculation were taken with either climber deployed tape wraps or Impulse 200 LR® with an inverted Macroscope 25® serving as a relaskop, unless otherwise stated. The data posted on this list comes from the following sources. Direct Tape Wraps-Steve Sillett, Jim Spickler, Marie Antione, Bob Van Pelt, Richard Preston and many others. Impulse 200LR® with Macroscope 25®-Robert Van Pelt & Michael Taylor. Lytespeed 400® laser with caliper-Ron Hildebrant. Volume measurements include vertical trunk iterations, if applicable. Height and volume are rounded to the nearest foot.
